Singapore is a little state city located in South East Asia, bordering Malaysia and near from Indonesia, and populated by 5 million people. Singapore is one of the most powerful echonomies of the world, and also, is a multilinguistic country with Malay, Mandarin Chinese and Tamil as the official languages. This is one of the 12 founders of the ABU Song Festivals, having taken part Twice in both events.

MediaCorp is a private TV Radio network member of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, being the one that has been taking part in the ABU TV Song Festival, and the ABU Radio Song Festival. This broadcaster was founded in 1963 and since then, is one of the leading broadcasting networks of this country, servicing not only Singapore, but also the neighbouring territories of South Malaysia, and the indonesian Riau islands. The network broadcasts in Chinese, Malay and Tamil languages for all the communieties that live there.

Entertainment industry.

Singapore has got a diverse musical industry, where the Malay language pop music has been sharing space both with south indian traditional and pop music and with the growing mandopop scene, that is one of the greatests ones outside Mainlnd China. Some singaporean singer have turned into stars highly acclamed in other countries for example Tanya Chua, Taufik Batisah, and Shabir.

The Singapore Concert Hall (Above) could be a suitable venue in order to host the ABU TV Song Festival in its original format.

If the ABU TV Song Festival or the ABU Radio Song Festival turned into a competition, and as a consequence, a bigger event able to atract enormous crowds of people, The Star Performing Arts Centre, could be a very suitable venue.
