Asiavision: Provisional dates revealed.


More details have been announced about the first Asiavision Song Contest. The details were revealed last week, and during the Eurovision Song Contest. The provisional list of participating broadcasters have been revealed although they are not definitive.
According to the information available, the provisional date for the inaugural contest may be in March 2017 and it is rumoured to take place in Sydney. The definitive dates have not been revealed, although it's rumored that the winner of the event may act as a guest performer in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.


A provisional list of participating national broadcasters has also been revealed. This list includes: China (CCTV/Hunan Television), Hong Kong (RTHK), Indonesia (RTVI), Japan (NHK), Mongolia (Mongolian National Broadcaster), Sri Lanka (MBC/Capital Maharaja Organisation) and South Korea (KBS). Paul Clarke of SBS confirmed to ESC Daily that 12 participating nations are the initial aim for 2017 and a total of 68 coutries are elegible to take part.

Some of the broadcasters are known for participating in the ABU TV Song Festival in previous years.
