Finally the official logo of the ABU TV Song Festival 2016 has been presented. The announcement came from the official facebook of the event, which has also presented the official image of this year's ABU General Assembly.
The ABU TV Song Festival 2016 was, at first determined to be held in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital city, but later, the event was finally moved to Bali, one of the most important turistic sites in this South Asian country.
This will be the fifth edition of the ABU TV Song Festival, a non competitive show which was held for first time in 2012, in Seoul. Since then, at least, 20 countries have participated at least once in this festival.
This may be the very last non competitive edition of the ABU TV Song Festival. In October last year, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, revealed that it had agreed to create with the chinese TV Channel Hunan TV, a competitive song contest for Asia. A few months later, the Australian broadcaster, SBS stated openly its plans to adapt the Eurovision Song Contest format to the Asian continent. The decision to create a pan-Asian song contest was also supported by the Korean public broadcaster, KBS.
Recently, SBS, from Australia, has revealed, that 12 countries are expected to compete in Asiavision in its first edition, although many more countries might be interested in taking part.
