News: Maldives likely to take part in the ABU TV Song Festival 2015

According to Vmedia, one of the local boradcasters of the country, Maldives may take part for second time in the ABU TV Song Festival.

The Maldives debuted in the festival for first time in 2014 with Mooshan Mubarik, who replaced the initially chosen feemale singer Mariyam Unoosha who suffered an accident short before her departure to Macau.

Mooshan succesfully aroused the interest of the asian audience with the song Raanamari, which was performed in the stage of the Sands Theatre of Macau, the venue for the ATSF 2014.

After his performance in the show, the chief of NHK, the japanese broadcaster, admitted to be interested in the young musician who later headed to Japan in order to perform for the maldivian community in the country.

If the Maldives confirm their participation in the event, which will be held in Istanbul, it could be the second country confirmed so far for the ATSF 2015, although the regular countries such as Australia, South Korea, Japan and China, are also likely to take part.

The ABU TV Song Festival, which is still a non competitive event is focused on showcasing the most prominent asian artists to the asian audience.
