National Broadcaster.
The Jordan Radio and Televison Corporation (JRTV) known in arabic language as Al Urduniyah, was launched in 1968, launched by the jordanian government. At first the station only broadcasted three hours of programming, but after the 1970, when the company achieved the membership of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), JRTV turned into one of the leading broadcasters of the Middle East Region. The network premiered a second channel and the full colour broadcasts, and since then the broadcasts of the company have been changing from informative programmes to sport and entertainment shows.
Entertainment Industry.
The Jordanian music scene is not as strong as in other arab singers such as Lebanon and specially Egypt. Anyway, the jordanian music scene has benefited from the appearance in the scene of talented singers. Many of them have been singed to Rotana and Melody Music Group which are some of the biggest record labels in the arab world.From left to right, some singers that could be elegible to represent Jordan in the ABU TV Song Festival.

ABU Song Festival Future.
Jordan has not taken part in the ABU TV Song Festival or the ABU Radio Song Festival (Which unlike its TV counterpart, is focused on amateur musicians), but due to its membership of the ABU (Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union), JRTV is elegible to take part in the shows.
Venues.
If Jordan was interested to host any of the ABU Song Festivals, the Amman Cultural Palace would be a suitable venue for the ABU TV Song festival. It has got a seat capacity for 1700 people, being one of the biggest auditoriums of the country.
