Countries: Malaysia, and ABU member country

Malaysia is a country located in South East Asia which covers the Malacca peninsula and the northern part of Borneo Island. The capital city of the country is Kuala Lumpur, while the seat of the federal government is set in Putrajaya.
This country has got a population of 30 millions of inhabitants and has turned into one of the most developedo countries in South East Asia.

National Broadcaster

The national broadcaster of Malaysia is RTM (Radio Televisyen Malaysia). It was founded in 1946. At first the radio studios of this company were located in Singapore, but some years later, the broadcaster moved to Kuala Lumpur, the current capital city of the country. The television service started in 1963, and five years later, both radio and television companies were merged into a single entity. In 1978 the televison service started its first broadcasts in color.

Entertainment Industry.

Musically the RTM is known for being the organiser of the Anugerah Juara Lagu, since 1986, a musical contest which shows the talent of some of the most famous singers and bands in the country. Although the show is known for the performances of famous artists, this contest awards the composers and music producers.
The show has been very important in the malaysian music scene and for many, AJL is considered to be the leap to the stardom for many artists. Singers Such as Siti Nurhaliza, Noraniza Idris, Jacklyn Victor and Hafiz are some examples of well known musicians.

Malaysia in the ABU TV Song Festival.

Malaysia took part in the ABU TV Song Festival twice, in its very first edition in 2012 which took place in Seoul, and in the second edition which took part in Hanoi, Vietnam.
 According to the rules of the show, this event, showcases the most famous artists of every country.

2012: Hafiz - Awan nano.
2013: Alyah - Kisah hati.

Malaysia in the ABU Radio Song Festival.

Malaysia has been taking part in the two editions of the ARSF celebrated so far, which unlike its TV counterpart, showcases the talent of unknown and unsigned musicians.

2012: K-Town Clan - Party animal.
2012: Sabhi Sadhi - Waktu.
2014: Mohd Rizal Ahmad - Di sudur kamat hatiku.

Venues.

Putra world trade center, could be a suitable venue for the ABU TV Song Festival or the ABU Radio Song Festival if RTM was interested to host these events.
