ABU Asia-Pacific Song Contest still underway.

According to the Asia-Pacific Broadcastig Union. The ABU Asia-Pacific Song Contest is still being discussed and the date of the event hasn't been revealed.
The latest ABU news bulletin shows that the format of the contest is still being discussed between the member TV stations. That means that some aspects of the newborn contest such as the number of shows and the voting system are being debated.

This event which had the initial name of ABU TV Cup Song Contest was announced in 2015 as a co-production between the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and Hunan TV, one of China's most successful broadcasters, which has produced succesful TV programmes and events such as the talent shows: Super Girl and Super Boy.

Apart from that, Hunan TV has broadcasted the Eurovision Song Contest to the Chinese audiences, which has created interest to have a similar contest in Asia.

Other broadcasters such as the Japanese NHK seem to be unaware of the fact that the ABU TV Song Festival has turned into a song contest, according to what the NHK Audience Assistance Center told us.
