National Broadcaster.

Pakistan Television Corporation, also known as PTV, is the national broadcaster of Pakistan. The company was launched in 1964. Since then, has been the only and the most important television and radio station of the country. Although at first, PTV was a private company, the ownership of the station belongs nowadays, to the state. In 2000, the monopoly of this company ended with the birth of the private television channels.

Entertainment industry.

the 1960's decade, just as happened in India, the pakistani music scene saw the rise of the playback singing for films. For a decade the film industry was very significant in the music scene of the country. Nevertheless in the following decades, some artists started their career, being successful out of the cinematographic world. In the 1980, the ethnic tunes were accompanied with more westernised rythms, such as the western pop and disco music, wich started its rise in the pakistani music scene. Nazia Hassan was one of the most popular singers of that era. Rock music also started rising in the country with artists such as Atif Aslam, who also have managed to enter in the indian music market.

Venues.

The jinnah convention centre would be a good venue in order to host both the ABU Radio Song Festival and the ABU TV Song Festival. Suitable even if the contest turned into a competition, and as a consequence, a bigger event.
