ABU will hold a meeting about the Song Festivals.


According to a document, published by ABU (Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union), the organisation will meet in order to discuss the future of the song festivals created by the union. The meeting is expected to take place, one day after the celebration of the fourth ABU Radio Song Festival, which is also included as a part of the Asia-Radio conference that will be hosted by China National Radio. 
The document presented by the organisation, considered the song festivals in both Europe and Asia, as cultural promotion tools. The same document also stated that the asian broadcasters are giving steps in order to focus on popular an successful song competitions. In fact, the most of the asian national broadcasters usually celebrate their own nationalwide music shows and competitions. 

After an agreement reached on October between the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and the Mainland Chinese private broadcaster Hunan TV, Asia will celebrate its first competitive song festival since the first 1990's. This new festival, the ABU TV Cup Song Contest, will be aired for first time on early 2017.
