ABU TV Cup Song Contest gets its first fan video

The ABU TV Cup Song Contest has brought the illusion to the followers of the ABU Song Festivals, two events that to date, have not been competitive. The event which will be competitive, and celebrated in early 2017 has been widely echoed in the social media by the fans of other music festivals such as the Eurovision Song Contest.

The news about the creation of this pan Asian music competition created by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, have been found even in China, where a thread related to this event has appeared in the Baidu search engine.

In Asia the music contests have had a limited audience due to the distance from Europe, and the limited, knowledge about this kind of festivals. The lack success of the previos atempts to create an Eurovision Song Contest type event could be a reason for this limited knowledge about these events.

Between 1989 and 1991, the ABU organised a pan asian song contest, the ABU Golden Kite song Festival, but then, the organisation withdrew from its organisation, and later, the festival was not held anymore.

Many years later, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, created two festivals, the ABU TV Song Festival, which showcases well known celebrities in their home countries, and the ABU Radio Song Festival, focused primarily on unknown or unsigned musicians in order to show their talent to the asian audience.
