Asiavision Generates interest in Thailand

Thailand is one of the elegible countries to participate in Asiavision / ABU TV Cup Song Contest. Although it's still unknown if this country will participate in the event, the announcement of the event by SBS has been met with interest in the Thai social media.

In Pantip, a Thai internet forum, a thread about this future event has been posted. The message is an article that reviewes the history of the pan asian music festivals, since 1991. The failed tries in order to create an asian spin-off of the Eurovision Song Contest, are also analised by the article.

Thailand has participated twice in the ABU TV Song Festival and has also taken part in the ABU Radio Song Festival, both of which are non competitive events. The article also talks about the Asian countries that are expected to participate, for first time, in this competitive event. 

The text is finished with the hope that the Thai TV networks will participate in Asiavision. Among the many Thai TV channels which are elegible to take part in this event are Thai PBS, MCOT, and NBT. Thai PBS and NBT are full members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. MCOT, is one of the leading private TV companies of Thailand.
