ABU TV Song Festival 2016. The likely venues.

Indonesia will host the fifth edition of the ABU TV Song Festival, that it's expected to be held in October in Jakarta. TVRI started the preparations for the event back on May, when Benny Simanjuntak, who has been the head of the indonesian delegation, presented the proposal for the fith ATSF.

Although the preparations for the event are underway, the indonesian broadcastar, TVRI (Televisi Republik Indonesia),  has not revealed further details about it. The official image for the song festival and the venue where it will take place, have still not been revealed.

Jakarta, the Indonesian Capital, is known for being home to many cultural venues and exposition palaces. Some of them are strictly music halls, althoug the most of them are big palaces of which some of them, have got a big seats capacity. If TVRI places the event in one of those venues, it can beat the record reched this year with the Istanbul Congress Centre, which has been, to date the biggest concert hall where the ATSF has been celebrated.

The Jakarta Convention Centre is one of the biggest venues in Indonesia. Located in a sports complex, the JCC, has got a plenary hall of over 5.000 seats, which could be ampliated, in case of big events. In this complex, very big names of the indonesian music scene have performed, such as Gita Gutawa and JKT48, as well as international artists such as Alicia Keys and Miku Hatsune.

The Indonesian Convention Exhibition is also another one of the big venues of the Indonesian capital. In fact, this is the biggest one which has a seat capacity of over 10.000 seats. This hall was opened in early 2015 and has, so far hosted concerts of artsits such as Michael Buble and Super Junior. It would also be a suitable venue for the ABU TV Song Festival 2016.

If the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union wanted to turn this event into a more massive event, Istora Senayan, an indoor arena with a seat capacity of over 15.000 people, is one of the best known sporting venues of Indonesia, which has also served as a concert hall.

Although Jakarta has got many venues where the ATSF'16 could be celebrated, the Indonesian national broadcastar has not revealed information about that. However, it's expected that the venue will be revealed in the next months.
